Steinheim, January 2025 – With a powerful brushless EC motor, the new FLEX SMS 305 18-EC cordless mitre saw offers a combination of the fastest progress while working with large cutting capacities. It can cut up to 101 x 330 mm and 92 x 356 mm quickly, cleanly and precisely with variable speeds and an LED spotlight. With this large cutting depth, cutting larger workpieces to length in timber construction, for carpenters and joiners or during renovations is no longer a problem. With a mitre of 52° to 60° and five stop positions, plus an inclination of up to 48° with four stop positions, any imaginable angle combination can be sawn with absolute precision. The cleverly designed quick positioning of the workpiece clamp with a practical clamping lever makes work much easier for carpenters and joiners, in timber construction, and with new builds and renovations. And thanks to the user-friendly spindle stop with lock function, the user has both hands free for changing the saw blade, which not only increases the comfort but also adds to the safety.
Flexible mitre angle, tilt and speed
Depending on the material in question, the appropriate speed can be flexibly selected at three levels (1900, 2500 and 4000 rpm). Preselecting the speed is quick and easy: the motor adopts it as the constant speed. The result is a better cutting quality and a longer service life of the saw blade.
Choosing the right mitre angle and tilt is also extremely flexible and straightforward. The plate rotates and the head swivels to the right and left - which means that all the angles and stop positions are easy to operate with the lever from the front. The tilt can be adjusted in four stop positions (0°, 22.5°, 33.9°, 45° or 48°). The mitre angle can also be selected on an easy-to-read scale with stop positions that can be switched on and off (45°, 31.6°, 22.5°, 15°, 0°) between 52° and 60°, which means that composite cuts are possible in any imaginable combination.
Precision with an LED spotlight and cutting line indicator
The integrated LED light makes for easier and more precise working. The LED light directly illuminates the area from the top of the saw blade. The saw blade’s shadow acts as a cutting line indicator for easy and precise positioning of the workpiece.
Brushless motor with overload and temperature protection
The electronics protect the motor from overloading and overheating to ensure a long service life. The electronics regulate the optimum power for the application based on the battery capacity and voltage, and support the user with the appropriate maximum sawing power.
This also makes the SMS 305 18-EC particularly efficient, economical and sustainable. The 8.0 Ah battery allows more than 500 cuts in 18 x 83 mm softwood.
Low weight and practical base
Weighing only 25.5 kg, the SMS 305 18-EC is very light, which makes it easier to handle and, above all, to transport. Just secure the transportation lock and tension lock, turn the table to the right, clamp – and the saw is ready for compact for compact transportation.
The Universal base frame WB 110-260 is also practical. For the perfect working height, simply connect the mitre saw to the brackets of the flexible base frame and secure it without tools. The perfect setup for construction sites and workshops because it provides the ideal working height - including support for very long workpieces and practical rollers on the right and left, so that longer workpieces can easily be drawn over the rollers.
Front operation saves space and effort
Unlike many other mitre saws, the new design of the SMS 305 18-EC allows it to be operated entirely from the front. Thanks to the front operation of the tilt (stop positions can be adjusted at four levels, 0°, 22.5°, 33.9°, 45°) to a maximum of 48° on both sides, there is no need to reach over the workpiece or handle on the back. The mitre angle can also be adjusted clearly and legibly with stop positions that can be switched on and off between 52° and 60°. Nor do the guide tubes protrude at the back, so the saw is much more compact than those by comparable competitors. This not only saves space because the saw can be placed directly on the wall, but also improves the precision and - just as important - cutting safety.
Dust-free thanks to hose and dust bag connection
The SMS 305 18-EC also comes with an adapter for connecting D 27 mm and D 36 mm hoses, and a dust bag.
The cordless mitre saw SMS 305 18-EC is now available in a box with a Z 60 saw blade, clamp, hose adapter, click adapter, dust bag and Allen key, for 999 euros plus VAT. The matching base, WB 110-260, costs 150 euros plus VAT.
